About the Game The game’s protagonist, Frey Holland, is transported from real life New York City to the fantastical world of Athia, which is currently under the tyrannical rules of the Tantas (tanta in this case meaning ‘renegade magician’), including Tanta Sila and Tanta Prave who are the game’s main protagonists, amongst others. The Tantas were previously benevolent leaders, using their powers for good, but because of an evil force known as ‘The Break,’ they have become tainted with evil, and the entire world of Athia is under threat from it. Battles are conducted through sorcery and magic, giving you plenty of scope to unleash your carefully learned and practised spells and charms. The Nitty Gritty The game falls into a subgenre of fantasy games called by its Japanese name: Isekai – many of the developers are Japanese – which sees a blending of the real world with a fantasy realm, something that helps to enhance both gameplay and the immersive quality of the game, rooting Frey in something real and relatable, before whisking them off to the fantastical realm. You play as Frey and you can customise your character, clothing and weapons. Almost all of these features can be upgraded: e.g., your cloak gives you additional powers and these benefits can be boosted.
